Hilary has navigated more change than most — across careers, places and chapters of life she didn't always choose. That experience is what brought her to coaching, and what she brings to it.
Her working life has been long and richly varied, including years in learning and development at the BBC and the University of Nottingham and within change management at NHS England. She has experienced redundancy more than once — and each time, the discovery that starting over contains more possibility than it first appears. When she left full-time work, she packed a bag and went solo backpacking through France and Spain. It was liberating in a way she hadn't anticipated.
She is also an artist. Encouraged by her daughter, she moved from private sketches of the Peak District to sharing and selling her work online — its own quiet act of courage, and one that stays with her when she sits with someone standing at the edge of something new, not quite sure they're allowed to step forward.
In her mid-sixties she trained as a coach and discovered Nancy Kline's Time to Think — a way of listening so deeply that people begin to hear their own thinking clearly, often for the first time.
Hilary works with people navigating change — in their work, their relationships, or their sense of who they are. She doesn't offer answers. She offers attention. The kind that lets your own best thinking find its way to the surface.
